Export Administrator- £30,000- Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Export Administrator to join a busy and growing business with a strong international customer base.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting export operations, coordinating international shipments, processing orders, and ensuring customers receive an exceptional service from order placement through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process export orders, quotations, and associated sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Produce and maintain export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping documentation, and certificates of origin where required.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with freight forwarders, couriers, shipping agents, and customs brokers.
  • Track shipments and provide customers with regular updates on order progress, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all export documentation complies with customer requirements, customs regulations, and international trade procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve delivery issues, shipping discrepancies, and courier claims.
  • Maintain accurate customer, order, and shipment records within company systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international customers, distributors, and trade partners.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure stock availability, order priorities, and customer requirements are communicated effectively.
  • Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to ensure orders are dispatched on time.
  • Manage a varied workload effectively, adapting to changing priorities and business demands.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in export administration, international sales support, logistics, customer service, or a similar role.
  • Good understanding of export documentation and international shipping processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office and order processing systems.

Desirable

  • Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or export-led environment.
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 or a similar ERP system.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, customs procedures, and export compliance.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international courier providers.
  • Experience dealing with export documentation, shipping claims, and overseas customer enquiries.
