Commercial Property Legal Secretary Canterbury £25,000-£28,000 Full-time, office-based Are you an experienced Legal Secretary with a background in Commercial Property or Residential Conveyancing? A well-established and highly regarded law firm in Canterbury is looking for a driven and adaptable Commercial Property Legal Secretary to join its friendly property team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an approachable Partner and experienced lawyers within a supportive firm that offers a positive working environment and genuine opportunities to develop your career. The role Working within a close-knit team of four, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Partner and fee earners. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Audio typing and digital dictation
  • Opening and closing client files
  • Preparing and producing property documentation
  • Assisting with lease extensions and deeds
  • Handling Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submissions
  • Ordering property searches
  • Obtaining documents and information from Companies House
  • Liaising professionally with clients, estate agents and other third parties
  • Coordinating the Partner's diary and appointments
  • Providing general administrative support to keep matters progressing efficiently
About you Previous experience within a property department is highly desirable, whether your background is in Commercial Property or Residential Conveyancing. You will ideally have:
  • Previous Legal Secretary experience within property/conveyancing
  • Strong audio typing and document-production skills
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills when dealing with clients and third parties
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy legal environment
  • A proactive, adaptable and driven approach
  • A professional and collaborative manner
